“Wouldn’t it be fun to have super powers like those people in books?” said June. “Duhh” said April. “If we had one super power what would you suggest?” said June. “Be able to talk to each other in our heads” both said at the same time. “Jinks lock you can’t talk until I say your name” said April to June. After 3 seconds of June not being able to talk both girls burst out in giggles.
Both girls were in the middle of third grade and best friends. “What if we really could train to do that” said June. “We definitely could. We’re like magic together” April said. And they were right. In three months they could talk to each other in their heads up to 3 yards away. “This is so awesome,” said April. “Totally,” said June. Both talking and answering in their heads. They always talked in their heads even at times when it was totally OK to talk. They just thought it was fun.
Explaining how they trained to do this magical thing was difficult. So they didn’t tell anyone, not even their secret boyfriends, Todd and Alex, and of course not Ashley, the bully of the grade. The year went on and on both girls practicing to be able to do it farther away. By the end of the third grade year they could do it from any distance even half way around the world they thought. During the fourth grade year they talked in class. April who used to be the best at spelling, math, and always queen of sparkle was now the middle student of all the things I’ve talked about. Everyone around her saw the drop. She got in trouble here and there for giggling during class at something funny that June said. For example “Chris Hogie just missed a math problem- Hogie” [giggle] “April you owe 5 min.”
April could also see the change. She had never gotten in trouble in her life until now.
June who used to be the 1 kid in third grade who didn’t know her timed tables was the smartest kid in her grade.
The reason she was is because April was telling her answers to every problem. She was also the teacher’s pet. Sometimes the teacher even let her do the teacher’s work. But best of all she was trusted by someone other than April and her parents. If you’re wondering when this story is going to end it ends in this last paragraph.
After both girls had gone through a couple years of that magic they decided that it made them different people and it was not a necessary of life. Both girls grew up and became great mothers each having 5 children. Both were neighbors and best friends forever.
